Kara Zor-el was sent from Krypton to Earth by her parents Zor-el and Alura at the age of 13. Krypton was blasting, and Cara’s parents sent Cara to Earth in a spacecraft after her cousin. Cara was there to protect her infant cousin Kal-El, but her spacecraft was driven away and taken to the Phantom Zone, where she lived for 24 years. By the time the spacecraft crash landed on Earth, Cal-El grew up and became superman. The series begins eleven years later when now 24-year-old Cara is learning to embrace her powers and she has been living in a superhero a.k.a. “Supergirl” is adopted. [1]
In the first season, Cara is forced to reveal her powers, and becomes the defender of the National City. [2] Kara finds that hundreds of criminals imprisoned her mother are hiding on earth, including her aunt Astra and Astra’s husband. Cara worked closely with her adoptive sister Alex Danvers to fight these criminals, as well as Green Martian J’N. Zonj, her cousin’s friend James Olsen and tech genius Vinna Scott.
